FirstServe Update
Our FirstServer Josh Barr has settled in well at the GLO centre in Zambia and is now responsible for teaching and mentoring a number of the scout boys from the local area. Please continue to pray for him in everything he’s involved in and that God will use him in amazing ways during these next few months.
Both Abi and Hazel are back home from overseas and are settling back into life in the UK, please pray for them both during this time of transition and that God will continue to work in the lives of these incredible girls!
FirstServe is a unique discipleship and missions programme, primarily for 18-25 year-olds on a gap year, or those with a shorter time available.
Gordon is part of the FistServe Steering Group.

Hyde Park
4 hours debating with Muslims at Speakers Corner in in Hyde Park London – exhausting but great fun – outnumbered 8 to 1 ~ in the lions den and they have teeth!
The Bible tells us that (2 Corinthians 4:4)“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”
So my prayer for those Muslim’s I spoke to today, is the prayer Elisha prayed (2 Kings 6:17): “O LORD, open his eyes and let him see!”
Family Fun Time!
A Family Fun Time was a ‘step of faith’ for the folk at Berrymead Evangelical Church, Acton.
What a thrill to see the building full of parents, family members and children!
We played some organised games, enjoyed eating Hot Dogs followed by cakes and rounded off the evening with a short talk from the Bible.
Parents and children from Mauritius, Lebanon, Portugal, Poland all added to the mix. A great occasion!
Holiday Club Update
Praise God for a really good week’s Holiday Club at Berrymead Evangelical Church Acton, London.
Although numerically it has been a small Holiday Club, I have been told that the ‘regular’ children have demonstrated uncharacteristic behaviour and listening skills this week! The Holiday Club has also attracted a variety of new contacts for the fellowship to follow up.
Praise God too for the parents who have opted to also stay in for the two hours of club.
Please pray in the ‘good seed sown’ in this tough multi-cultural area of London.
Friday is prize-giving and completes the four day holiday Cub and we will finish off the week with a Family Fun time on Saturday and a Family Service on Sunday morning.
Berrymead Evangelical Church
Looking forward to a good week’s Holiday Club at (Berrymead Evangelical Church Acton, London).
It is a privilege to be able to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in this tough multi-cultural area of London.
Don’t be surprised if you see a penguin, a polar bear or even a husky in the Acton area this Holidays! ‘Polar Explorers’ is the fun theme and name of the Holiday Club we are running all week (Tuesday to Saturday).
With the help of Sir Random Finds and Bare Feet, the children are explorers who go on a mini-expedition each day and learn about a New Testament character. Through the lives of these people, they learn that no one is too anything to be part of God’s big expedition, that is, to be a friend of Jesus and go out and help other people be friends of Jesus too.
