Thank you for your prayers RE: The Alresford Agricultural Show which was a huge success with thousands attending.
Our tent (New Farm Chapel & Friends) of witness had face painting, tattoos (temporary ones!), Pets Corner, crafts & games area and my MEGA second-hand bookstall.
Lots of books sold including 11 Bibles sold and 8 New Testaments given away. So many good conversations had with people of all faiths and none.
The highlight of the day was the 5 children with came into our stand with their Grandmother, when they saw my box of Bibles their eyes lit up and asked Grandma if they could have one! It was a joy to give them a Gideon New Testament and also a comic book of Bible stories, you should have seen the smiles and excitement on their faces.

Just 1 day to go until The Alresford Show (Saturday 6th September). The Alresford Show is described as ‘The jewel in the crown of Hampshire agricultural shows.’

This year we expect thousands of people to attended the show which takes pride in being traditional and quintessentially English.

A good day out and if you come make sure you visit our stand #D84 (I say our stand but we are working alongside New Farm Chapel & friends).

Prayer Points

 that people will feel comfortable coming onto the stand
 that people will engage
 that we will have the right words to say to meet needs
 that those working on the stand will have patience and grace
 that God sends those that we need to come into contact with
 that the books, flyers, tracts & goodie bags will reach the right people
 for safety
 for good weather

After a two-week absence it was good to be back at Speakers Corner today, it was surprisingly a nice quiet afternoon/evening, a reasonable crowd but many of the regular ‘big hitting’ Moslems were absent with just a couple making an appearance later on.
For me a rare day because I enjoyed some good conversations without any of them turning into an argument or shouting match!
The best dialogue being with Abdullah (2nd photo white shirt) a regular Moslem dawahist (evangelist) at the park. Although he is fixed in his views he does listen well to your points and will engage with what you said instead of jumping on to a different topic as many Moslems in the park tend to do.
Please pray for him!

Me thinks today will not be dull – last week Si got kicked, ‘Young’ Bob was removed from the park and a lot of other shenanigans took place! Speakers Corner in London’s Hyde Park is the oldest free speech platform in the world. People won the right to speak in mass protests in the 1860s and early 1870s. Some people believe the tradition is connected to the right of the condemned to a last speech before being hung at the Tyburn gallows, a practice that stopped at the end of the 18th century. Every Sunday people from all sorts of convictions come to Hyde Park in the afternoon to spread their message or to have fun.
