Harvest Opportunities!

Great day on Sunday at the Harvest All-Age Service @ Duncan Road Church Southampton, followed by a very enjoyable Church meal!

Schools

Great opportunity to do a question and answer session with three year 4 classes at Townhill Junior School, Southampton. The pre-prepared questions ranged from ‘What is a Church?’ ‘Why do Christians pray?’ ‘What is God like?’ ‘Why do Christians eat bread & wine?’ ‘Why and when did you become a Christian?’ and many more questions about Church, the community and what Christians believe!

It was also good to introduce teachers to the RE:Quest website – a great resource, started by ‘Counties‘ but now run by ‘Youth For Christ’.

National Secular Society

Fame at last – did you know Countiesare famous (depending on your view for the right or wrong reason) for being named as an organisation that the National Secular Society is “concerned about”? See http://www.secularism.org.uk/evangelism-in-schools.html – http://www.secularism.org.uk/groups-currently-active-in-schoo.html

Great start this morning at Sarisbury Green Junior School, Southampton. The children listened intently as I shared the story of the lost son (Luke chapter 15)
