Today @ Speakers Corner
The sunshine (and the Royal Parks Half Marathon) brought out the crowds to the park and also to Speakers Corner. Once again plenty of good conversations and gospels given away. The highlight of the day, well perhaps not a highlight but someone who certainly needs our prayers was an atheist man called Jamie.. I saw Jamie chatting to one of the Christian ladies (Abi) and Sidled up to join in the conversation, we covered a wide range of topics over quite a long time, pretty sure logic will not win the day but prayer certainly can – please pray for him, we hope to reconnect next week.
Evangelism @ Speakers Corner
Evangelism @ Speakers Corner. Hyde Park. London.
George Orwell claimed in 1945 that Speaker’s Corner, has a ‘large variety of plain lunatics’, and for the most part, it is tough to disagree with him – lol.
Speakers Corner in London’s Hyde Park is the oldest free speech platform in the world. People won the right to speak in mass protests in the 1860s and early 1870s. Some people believe the tradition is connected to the right of the condemned to a last speech before being hung at the Tyburn gallows, a practice that stopped at the end of the 18th century. Every Sunday people from all sorts of convictions come to Hyde Park in the afternoon to spread their message or to have fun.

Today @ Speakers Corner.
As soon as I arrived at the Corner 2 Spanish students on holiday crossed my path, initially wary of engaging but a smile and a few comments later, they soon opened up to chat, they had never read any of the Bible and it was good to pass on some useful literature. Then for the next three hours it was one conversation after another!
Hard to decide the highlight of the day as there was two candidates. Misha from Georgia & Mahmud from Palestine. Misha was like a sponge soaking in the gospel message and taking a John’s gospel, I have tried to link him with a local Baptist Church near to where he lives, it would be great if he went along.
Mahmud saw my booklets and came over to asked me a question, he refused any literature and after 10mins walked away, then as often happens in the Corner, he returned on two more occasions for a longer conversation developing each time. Please pray that God will make himself known to this genuine seeking Moslem.
