We ask prayer for:

Safe travel for everyone to and from the site.
Unity & balance in the team – we have a variety of helpers with different backgrounds and experience– pray that we will all complement each other in our various roles.
For Gordon as he prepares & shares talks from Luke’s gospel.
For Moose, Naomi & Penny the Leadership Team.
For a good time spiritually – that the week will be marked with conversions and spiritual growth.
Health & safety – accidents do happen – pray with us that any accident/health issue will be insignificant and handled well!

An afternoon & evening of preparing & decorating the site (Fun theme ‘Adventure Cruise’) ready for the rabble to arrive tomorrow – now where did I put that check list?

A surprise visit to the Corner from AP better known on YouTube as the Apostate Prophet, AP (Ridvan Aydemir) is an Ex-Muslim, Turkish-German YouTuber known for critiquing Islam. I think he got an easy time as many of the top dawah Moslems were absent.
Another particularly good afternoon that started with an influx of Orthodox Jews, all willing to talk and debate, and so Chris and I took up the challenge.
Other conversations took place during the afternoon with Moslem men, these seem to be productive and all was going well, then during my final polite and respectable conversation with a Moslem man another Moslem man decided he would join in, or rather hijack the conversation and turn it into a monologue, as a result it turned into one big mega argument with lots of shouting! Not the best way to finish the day but that is Speakers Corner.

Last week, Shalini was kicked and Jason was punched twice by those who belong the religion of peace! The summer period always sees gangs of young Moslem men from Saudi Arabi flooding the Corner and acting as if they own the park and can do what they like. Glad to say that in all the madness there are many sensible Moslems who want to debate and not cause trouble. One thing for sure, it aint gonna be dull!

Speakers Corner in London’s Hyde Park is the oldest free speech platform in the world. People won the right to speak in mass protests in the 1860s and early 1870s. Some people believe the tradition is connected to the right of the condemned to a last speech before being hung at the Tyburn gallows, a practice that stopped at the end of the 18th century. Every Sunday people from all sorts of convictions come to Hyde Park in the afternoon to spread their message or to have fun.

A great holiday in Mallorca has given us time to relax and recharge for the next few weeks & months.

Now it’s back to work and mainly office work. The key word for the next two weeks is preparation! “Service of any type requires preparation.” – Russell M. Nelson.

Those talks are contained in 10 sessions that also need prepared content.

Praise God that most of Camp is sorted,
But there is still lots to organise, in fact we will be on the go right up to the time Camp starts.

Somewhere hot & sunny back on August 5th

Plenty of people. plenty of conversations and plenty of things to pray about!

Great to meet Japheth from Mexico and talk through a possible project he is hoping to do at the the Corner. Best conversation of the day was with George (Eastern Orthodox) & Saeed (Moslem), a chance to discuss a whole range of things relating to the Christian faith.
Please pray also for the Moslem man who took a copy of John’s gospel, in previous weeks he refused to take a copy but today he accepted it!
